Best Places Near Hudson to Take Your Dog This Summer

Now that the early days of summer are here, it’s a good time to start getting out and about with your furry friend.

We’re not all blessed with big fenced-in backyards, and even those of us who are like a change of scenery or want to give their dog some room to socialize with other pups.

Thankfully, there are some excellent dog parks not far from Hudson. These are four off-leash parks where your dog can run free and enjoy the simple pleasures of being a dog.

Bow Wow Beach
5027 Stow Rd., Stow

With nearly 8 acres surrounding a 5-acre lake, Rover will have plenty of room to roam at Bow Wow Beach, located not far from Hudson in Stow. There are beach areas, grassy areas, fun in the sun, shady spots to cool down, and more.

You’ll also enjoy wash basins so you can clean off your pet before you leave, and pet waste stations so you can help keep the place free of the smelly stuff.

Keyser Dog Park
550 Keyser Parkway, Cuyahoga Falls

If the hustle and bustle of Bow Wow Beach is too much for you, you’ll find Keyser Dog Park to be a nice alternative. This 2-acre, off-leash, fenced-in park includes shade trees, benches and a water hydrant to keep Fido fresh and cool.

Just as important, it’s a quiet park with nice people, great pet owners, and a laid back atmosphere. This is a good spot for people with dogs who get overwhelmed by being around too many other dogs at once.

Twinsburg Dog Park
9577 Liberty Rd, Twinsburg

This pleasant little off-leash park might not have the razzle dazzle of a place like Bow Wow, but the open grassy areas, shade trees, and benched areas provide a nice place for you to play catch, romp around, or simply sit back and watch as your dog runs around like a lunatic.

The fences are nice and secure, so you won’t have to worry about an escape. Nice park to visit for a change of pace.

BARC Akron Dog Park
499 Memorial Parkway, Akron

Good, welcoming people, well-behaved pets and plenty of open space are the hallmarks of this dog park in nearby Akron. One standout feature here is an agility course that will test your pup’s skills in a fun way.

Volunteers work the park, too, helping keep order and keep it clean. That makes for a fantastic environment to run around with Fido.
